Gibson Guitar sponsored the Austin Guitar Town public art project and charity auction in 2006-2007.  35 10-foot guitars were created by central Texas artists, and auctioned to raise funds for local charities. 

 

Hostelling International-Austin generously hosted Dianne as she created her 10-foot guitar, Striking Texas Gold.  As she worked, hostel guests and others were invited to assist in the creation process.  Placing all of the thousands of tiny pieces of glass took about 6 weeks and nearly 400 hours!

 

Dianne’s guitar was exhibited at the Blanton Museum of Art on the University of Texas campus, and raised a staggering $55,000 for charities during the live auction.
